Refund policy

At FunChem, customer satisfaction is important to us. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we accept eligible returns in accordance with the policy below.

Return Eligibility

Product Type Return Policy
Laboratory Glassware & Accessories Eligible for return within 35 days of delivery. Products must be unused, in resalable condition, and include all original packaging, accessories, and documentation. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a damaged, defective, or incorrect item.
Laboratory Equipment Eligible for return within 35 days of delivery only if unopened and unused. Equipment that has been installed, operated, modified, or used is not eligible for return unless covered by warranty or required by applicable law.
Custom Products Custom-built, made-to-order, personalized, or specially manufactured products are non-returnable and non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective.
Bulk Purchases  Bulk purchases are considered final sale unless otherwise agreed in writing before the order is placed.

Restocking Fees

For eligible equipment returns that are not due to our error, the following restocking fees apply once the order has been shipped:

  • Small laboratory equipment: 10% of the purchase price
  • Large laboratory equipment (over 70 lb / 32 kg): 40% of the purchase price

Restocking fees do not apply if the return is due to:

  • Shipping damage
  • Manufacturing defects
  • Incorrect product shipped by FunChem

Non-Returnable Items

Unless required by applicable law, the following items are not eligible for return:

  • Custom or made-to-order products
  • Personalized products
  • Bulk purchases designated as final sale
  • Products damaged due to misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or improper storage
  • Products contaminated by hazardous chemicals, biological materials, or other hazardous substances
  • Products identified as non-returnable on the product page

Laboratory Safety Requirements

FunChem supplies products intended for professional laboratory and scientific applications.

Products are intended for laboratory, research, educational, and industrial use only. They are not intended for medical diagnosis, treatment, or household use unless explicitly stated.

For the safety of our employees, logistics partners, and inspection personnel, products that have been exposed to hazardous chemicals, biological materials, radioactive substances, or other hazardous contaminants cannot be returned unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that any approved return has been properly cleaned, decontaminated, and packaged in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and transportation requirements before shipment.

FunChem reserves the right to refuse, reject, or dispose of any returned product that presents a health, safety, or environmental risk, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return results from:

  • A damaged item
  • A defective product
  • An incorrect item shipped by FunChem

Original shipping charges, customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and expedited shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your shipment promptly upon delivery.

If your order arrives:

  • Damaged
  • Defective
  • Incomplete
  • Incorrect

please contact FunChem as soon as possible.

To help us process your request quickly, please provide:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the shipping carton
  • Photos of the shipping label
  • Photos showing the damaged, defective, or incorrect product
  • A brief description of the issue

Additional information may be requested to assist with carrier claims or warranty evaluation.

How to Request a Return

Eligible returns may be requested through your FunChem customer account.

  1. Log in to your account at https://www.funchem.store
  2. Open the Orders page.
  3. Select the order you wish to return.
  4. Click Request Return.
  5. Select the product(s) you wish to return.
  6. Choose the appropriate return reason.
  7. Upload photos or supporting documentation if requested.
  8. Submit your return request.

Return Approval

Submitting a return request does not guarantee approval.

FunChem reserves the right to review each request individually and may request additional information before authorizing a return.

Unauthorized returns or returns shipped without prior approval may be refused or returned to the sender at the customer's expense.

Refund Processing

Once the returned product has been received and inspected, FunChem will notify you of the outcome of your return request.

If approved, refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Depending on your financial institution or payment provider, processing times may vary.

Where appropriate and at FunChem's discretion, we may instead provide:

  • A replacement product
  • Replacement parts
  • Store credit
  • A partial refund

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

Cancellation Policy

At FunChem, we understand that plans may change. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate cancellation requests whenever possible.

Cancel Within 1 Hour

Orders may be canceled within 1 hour of placement through your customer account.

To cancel your order:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Open the Orders page.
  3. Select the order you wish to cancel.
  4. Click Cancel Order.
  5. Select a cancellation reason.
  6. Submit your request.

If the order has not entered processing, cancellation will generally be completed automatically.

Cancel After 1 Hour

If more than one hour has passed since your order was placed, please contact us at:

We will make reasonable efforts to cancel your order before it enters fulfillment.

However, cancellation cannot be guaranteed once order processing has begun.

Orders that have already been shipped cannot be canceled and must instead follow this Return & Refund Policy, if eligible.

Custom Products

Orders for custom-built, made-to-order, personalized, or specially manufactured products cannot be canceled once production has commenced.

Bulk Orders

Cancellation of bulk purchases is subject to production status and any written agreement between FunChem and the customer.

Refunds for Canceled Orders

If a cancellation request is approved before shipment, a full refund will generally be issued to the original payment method.

If cancellation is requested after shipment, any applicable return shipping charges and restocking fees may apply in accordance with this Return & Refund Policy.
